ARTx Camden
A service organization in Camden, NJ founded by students and physicians who believe the Arts and Humanities serve a vital purpose in the health of individuals, communities, and society. ARTx continues to mentor Camden youth, implement vibrant public art projects like this one, invest in local arts non-profits, share therapeutic art experiences with critically ill hospitalized patients, and push the envelope for proactive healing arts beyond institutional walls and into our neighborhoods that need it most.

By building well-informed interventions that are targeted toward the most vulnerable populations, and improving those already set in place, our systems will be better equipped to tackle today’s most pressing public health concerns while prioritizing quality, value, and equity. Free Keys is a participatory public art project on campus at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The project garnered widespread interdisciplinary support at UMass and its pianos continue to serve as beacons of artistic self-expression, dignity, and community on campus.
